Theater Chronology
The Juilliard School Drama Division, Group #1 1968-1972—Patti LuPone began her theatrical training as a member of Group 1 of the new Drama Division of The Juilliard School, created by John Houseman and Michel Saint-Denis in anticipation of Juilliard’s move to its new home in Lincoln Center.
Several productions, which were later performed by The Acting Company, were originally produced and performed by the students of Group 1 of The Juilliard School’s Drama Division. In 1972, upon graduation from The Juilliard School, members of Group 1 were invited to become the original members of John Houseman’s The Acting Company.
