Ramblings From The Road
July, 2000
Dolls,
I went to Boston. It is one of the most beautiful cities in America.
It reminds me of London with the gardens and the row houses. Hey! I
guess that's why they call it New England! The North End is the Italian
section (of course, where else would I end up)? It's also the home of
Paul Revere and the Old North Church (one if by land, two if by sea).
Both places I visited and learned about the Boston massacre. I don't
know nothing about American history, I don't know what
I studied in High School. Anyway, The Freedom Trail is a walking
tour of, I guess, what led to the American Revolution. I guess I wasn't
paying attention when I took the walk. Let's get to the good stuff.
"Assaggio" at 29 Prince Street, 617-227-7380. The calamari is to die
for. I do remember that. And, oh yes, The Duck Tour, pick it
up at the Prudential building, and make sure "Sarge" is your Tour Guide.
I gotta go back to Boston this week. I'm going to walk The Freedom
Trail again with my son. Do you think I'll learn anything this time?
One tip for New York City, "Eleven Madison Park", Madison Ave at 24th Street. 212-889-0905. Next stop, Laguna, CA dolls. See ya in a couple of weeks.
Love, Patti
